I’ve noticed that in addition to needing help writing a stellar dating profile, most people really suck at reading a profile and determining with any accuracy, whether the person is going to be a good match for them or not.

Because most of the people you will come across HAVEN’T written their profile using my guide, you are going to have to do the work to figure out if they are a bad writer, or a bad apple.

I have a really high degree of success with the dates I have from people I meet online. This is in part due to the way I read profiles. I’ve noticed most people just start and the top and read straight down. That’s not how I do it, and if you want to really win at online dating, it’s not how you should do it either.

Here’s the first three things I look at in an OkCupid profile for someone I’m interested in:

1. Pictures (but what I look for is probably not what you look for)
2. The Match %’s (but what I look for is probably not what you look for)
3. What I’m Doing With My Life (but what I look for is probably not what you look for)
